Whether you’re bored on a rainy afternoon, or the future of your company depends on you, making a website can seem like a large task. Yet, never fear, with these step-by-step instructions you’ll make a website in minutes! To prove to you this will, in fact, take you under 10 minutes I took the task of making my own website. Luckily for you, I documented the journey.

1. Use a site, such as godaddy.com, to register a domain and to begin your website. The domain is simply the address of your website. In order to create this, you will need to make a quick online account. Then select Web Hosting under the Hosting tab. Hosting, which comes hand-in-hand with the domain, is essential for your website because it reserves a spot to hold all the information on your site.

Let me break it down for you. Think of your domain like the address of a house. It is an exact location that, once given to other people, are able to arrive at that same location. Hosting is like the house at that address. It’s the product at the destination that holds all the information, which is your website!

2. Listed below will be many different packages to choose from, but for a standard website, the economy option gives you all the essentials you’ll need.

3. With this option, you have access to a free domain. This will be the URL of your brand new website, so keep it straightforward and concise.

4. Once you’ve added all this to your cart, then select the length of time you would like to have your website for, as well if you’d like site backup and restore. I opted out of this option to keep the price down.
5. Then chose to start a WordPress website!
